We are proud to be a partner and supporter of Strathcarron Hospice. We are passionate about helping when we can and supporting this invaluable and very worthwhile cause. We also offer advice to staff, patients, volunteers and their many supporters.
Strathcarron is an independent hospice providing specialist palliative and expert end of life care for the people of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth. They care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured including cancer, lung, heart or kidney failure and a range of non-malignant and neurological diseases.
They are also actively involved in research and education in palliative care and promote and influence the delivery of palliative care locally and beyond.
All their services are free and are provided when and where they are needed- in patients’ own homes, in hospitals and care homes and in the Hospice at Denny. They are passionate about providing high quality services, including inpatient care; day care; specialist advice in the community; Hospice@Home; bereavement and pastoral care and lymphoedema. The patient and their families are at the heart of everything they do.
Every year, they provide care and support to over 1,400 people with a life-limiting illness or condition, at a time when both they and their family need it most. Their philosophy is about “living until you die” and they ensure a welcoming and loving environment in the Hospice. They firmly believe that people should not only die well but live well until the end of their life. They support patients and their loved ones to make every moment count and do their very best to help create lasting memories. They require to raise £12,900 every day of the year to keep these services running.
In the last year, they have helped organise many events and made many wishes come true for patients including organising weddings, welcoming pets into the hospice including one patient’s beloved horse and fulfilling lifelong dreams whereby one patient got to visit his favourite football stadium. Nothing is too much trouble, they want to understand what is important to each individual and enable them to achieve their goals.
